How do I make an appointment?

What Insurance Plans do you take?

Spence Counseling Center will work with most insurance plans. We are in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Coventry (MHNet), Medicare (IA), United Health Care, and Midlands Choice. We will accept, but are out of network with GEHA, Tricare, and ValueOptions. If your insurance is not in the listing, please call for more details.

What are your hours of operation?

Each therapist sets their own schedule, so you will work with them for an appointment.  Spence Counseling Center is generally open Monday through Friday 9:00am to 9:00pm. Saturdays by appointment only and closed Sundays.

What are your fees?

This depends on a variety of factors, including what type of therapist you are going to see along with insurance benefits, co-pays, and cash cases. These should be discussed on your initial call and with your therapist at your first appointment.

Do you offer family therapy?

Yes!  Depending on insurance, we are able to offer different forms of family, group, and couples therapy.

Do you have a sliding fee scale?

We offer a reduced fee based on need and availability at the discretion of the executive director or leadership team.

What types of faith backgrounds do you service?

Although we are a Christian based counseling center, we do not turn away anyone looking for guidance no matter their beliefs. We strive to heal the pain in the hearts and minds of those suffering, and give them peace.

Do you provide services for addiction?

We currently have therapists that are certified to work with chemical dependency and gambling addiction.  Please call our New Client Line to hear their availability.

How many sessions should I expect?

That depends greatly on your needs.  During the initial evaluation, the therapist will determine how frequently it would be beneficial for you to been seen.  Some people feel better after just a dew sessions. For others it may take longer.  We will dedicate as much time as you need it to in order to feel like you have a grasp on your issue and can move forward in a healthy manner.

Do you follow HIPAA regulations?

Yes!  We believe that your privacy is of the utmost importance.  We want you to feel open and comfortable during your sessions.  Therefore, we hold all of our employees to the standards set forth by HIPAA.
